Staring in the Face of the Blues

I've been down too long, time too change my point of view
Some good luck is way too overdue
Life was so much better before
Now every time I open the door
I'm staring in the face of the blues
Every chance they get they pour salt on my bruise
How do I take such abuse?
Yes, they kick me when I'm down
And every time I turn around
I'm staring in the face of the blues
I know it all sounds so very hopeless
Like I'm burnt to the end of my fuse
I need a love to help me cope best
If you let me baby, you are who I'd choose
They say the sun will shine, someday joy will be mine
I hope that day comes soon
Every time I turn on the light
In the middle of the night
I'm staring in the face of the blues
